Missouri Foundation for Health
Holds Hannibal Public Forum
St. Louis -The
Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) is holding a free public
forum in Hannibal, MO, on Tuesday, May 16, 6-8 pm, at the
Veterans Elementary School cafeteria, 790 North Veterans Road.
The forum, which is co-sponsored by Families and Communities
Together (FACT), is designed to gather information about the
problem of the uninsured and underinsured in Hannibal and
the surrounding counties. Area residents are encouraged to
attend the forum to discuss health concerns and the unmet
health needs in northeast Missouri.
This is the second of nine forums being held across the state
in 2006, in order to help educate policymakers and the public
regarding the significance of the lack of health insurance
for thousands of Missourians.
The forum is free and open to the public. Refreshments are
provided. Those wishing to attend should RSVP to the Foundation
at 314-345-5500 or 1-800-655-5560. Persons who need special
accommodations may call that same number.
Established in 2000, MFH is the largest non-governmental funder
of community health activities in the state. The Foundation
is in its fourth year of grantmaking, having issued more than
$159 million in grants and awards to date. It is dedicated
to serving the uninsured and underserved in 84 Missouri counties
and the City of St. Louis.
