Missouri Foundation for Health
Hires Four New Staff
St. Louis, Oct. 7
- The Missouri Foundation for Health, the largest health foundation
in the state, announces the recent addition of four new staff.
PROGRAM ASSOCIATE
Sopheak W. Srun
Mr. Srun joins the Foundation from Saint Louis University
where he worked as a pediatric cardiology research assistant
and studied various health conditions in pediatric patients.
He has also worked with an after-school program designed to
prevent violence and drug use among at-risk youths. He holds
a Master of Public Health with a concentration in epidemiology
from Saint Louis University.
COMMUNITY AND GOVERNMENT LIAISON
Caroline Battles
Ms. Battles comes to the Foundation after serving as field
director for Cover the Uninsured Week. There she was responsible
for planning grassroots activities designed to focus attention
on uninsured and underinsured Americans. She has also worked
with local and state elected officials including serving as
Eastern Missouri deputy director for U.S. Senator Jean Carnahan.
She earned her Bachelors Degree in Political Science from
Drake College.
GRANTS MANAGER
Donna Shoff
Ms. Shoff comes to the Foundation from Washington University
in St. Louis, where she served as manager of finance and administration.
She also has experience with University of Missouri - St.
Louis, where she served as grants and contracts administrator.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from
St. Louis University and is pursuing a Masters of Business
Administration from Webster University.
RECEPTIONIST
Anita Morton
Ms. Morton joins the Foundation from The Brentmoor, where
she worked as a receptionist. She also has experience from
working as a receptionist with the American Cancer Society
and as an administrative assistant with Industrial Warehouse
Equipment in St. Louis. She graduated from Laboure High School
(currently Cardinal Ritter Prep.) and has attended Florissant
Valley Community College.
Established in January of 2000 through the for-profit conversion
of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri, MFH is the largest
health care foundation in the state and the second largest
health conversion foundation in the country. Its vision is
to improve the health of the people in the communities it
serves. The Foundation is in its third year of grantmaking.
