Regional
Meeting Planned in Cape Girardeau For Info About MFH &
Funding
Organizations in southeast
Missouri interested in improving health care in their communities
should attend a meeting hosted by Missouri Foundation for
Health (MFH) in March. Attendees can learn more about grant
programs available through MFH, as well as more about MFH.
The meeting is 2 - 3 pm, March 3, at the United
Way of Southeast Missouri, 430 Broadway, in Cape Girardeau.
The meeting is free and designed for nonprofits focusing on
community action, health care, community development, and
faith-based services, along with community service clubs and
other human service providers and community leaders.
Currently, MFH funds grants
to address specific health issues (tobacco usage, obesity,
asthma, diabetes, dental care, mental health/substance abuse,
women's health) and provide operations support.
Established in 2000, MFH is the largest non-governmental funder
of community health activities in Missouri. MFH is in its
sixth year of grantmaking, having issued more than $270 million
in grants and awards to date. It is dedicated to serving the
uninsured, underinsured and underserved in 84 Missouri counties
and the City of St. Louis.
