Regional
Meetings Planned For Info About MFH & Funding
Nonprofit organizations
in northeast Missouri interested in improving health care
in their communities should attend one of two meetings hosted
by Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) in February. Attendees
can learn more about grant programs available through MFH,
as well as more about MFH.
The meetings are in Hannibal - 4:30-6 pm, Wednesday,
February 13 in the Bank of Hannibal-Community Room, 3817 McMasters,
and Bowling Green - 11 am-1 pm, Friday, February 15,
at the 2nd Baptist Church educational building, 319 West Church
Street. The meetings are free and designed for nonprofits
focusing on community action, health care, community development,
and faith-based services, along with community service clubs
and other human service providers and community leaders.
Currently, MFH funds grants to address specific health issues
(tobacco usage, obesity, asthma, diabetes, dental care, mental
health/substance abuse, women's health) and provide operations
support.
For more information about the February 13 Hannibal meeting
or the February 15 Bowling Green meeting, visit the MFH website,
www.mffh.org.
Established in 2000, MFH is the largest non-governmental funder
of community health activities in Missouri. MFH is in its
sixth year of grantmaking, having issued more than $270 million
in grants and awards to date. It is dedicated to serving the
uninsured, underinsured and underserved in 84 Missouri counties
and the City of St. Louis.
