Health Literacy [visit the Health Literacy page]
Funding focuses on improving the health literacy of Missouri's population to encourage better health decisions and behaviors, promoting health literacy education and training for health professionals and enhancing communication between consumers and care providers.

Mental Health & Substance Abuse [visit the MHNSA page]

Through this program, funding is available to organizations pursuing:

1) Youth-based mental health and/or substance abuse prevention and/or treatment programs, especially in collaboration with schools;

2) Assessment or program planning that address prevention and/or treatment needs of all age groups with mental health and/or substance abuse disorders; or

3) New approaches addressing mental health and/or substance abuse disorders that other approaches are ineffective in addressing.

Women's Health [visit the Women's Health page]  

MFH has developed the Women's Health program to address the health behavior, prevention, and treatment needs of women. The goals for Women's Health are to: 1) encourage healthy behaviors, 2) meet the need for services, and 3) contribute to creating healthier communities.

In 2008, MFH is focusing its Women's Health program funding on violence against women. In coming years, MFH will address other areas of interest in women's health.

Health Interventions in Non-Traditional Settings (HINTS) [visit HINTS page]
These grants are designed to support efforts of eligible nonprofits
not typically considered “traditional” health organizations. The intent
of HINTS is to assist these organizations in establishing new health programs, or supporting and expanding existing services to improve community health.
