Within MFH’s approach to funding, we intend to be responsive to efforts that fit our mission, but fall outside our targeted funding efforts. The Special Projects Program is part of MFH’s Responsive Portfolio (click here for information of MFH’s strategy). The Special Projects Program will support one-time efforts to address identified health needs in communities within the Foundation’s region.
These opportunity-oriented grants are intended to support health improvement efforts developed in the context of the community. Awards under the Special Projects Program should be considered competitive, one-time, non-renewable opportunities. The objectives of this funding program are to:
• Respond and support efforts to improve critical health issues faced by MFH communities.
• Achieve measurable impact on important health issues brought forward by field/communities within the Foundation’s region. Measurable impact will be defined within the scope of the project supported through this program.
The Special Projects Program is seeking efforts that meet the MFH mission, but fall outside the Targeted areas identified in MFH’s Strategic Plan. You can find answers to frequently asked questions by clicking here. Efforts focusing on the following will not be accepted:
• Obesity prevention
• Infant mortality
• Expanding health insurance coverage, or
• Oral health
There are currently no open Special Projects funding opportunities. If you have questions or an interesting project idea, contact your regional program officer.
