Systems Development

About Us An effective system for supporting and improving the health of Missourians requires key resources, including: a trained health care workforce; adequate physical resources (buildings, equipment and transportation); and communication (information systems and improved health literacy).

This newly developed funding area focuses on helping communities develop and maintain those necessary infrastructures, along with considering the many socio-economic factors (social determinants of health) that also affect the health of a community or individuals.  MFH anticipates funding efforts to expand Missouri’s primary care workforce and reduce the number of health shortage areas, support effective use of health information technology across the health system, and improve health literacy for all Missourians.
