Foundation Offers Presentations on New Funding Opportunity 
August 6 events highlight new efforts to reduce tobacco use and obesity


St. Louis, Mo., July 29, 2010 --  Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) invites nonprofits, local government and  the community to learn about new grants to reduce tobacco use, obesity and the health problems they cause.

MFH has been approved for match funds through the federal government’s Social Innovation Funding program, and is launching a new grant initiative called Social Innovation for Missouri, or SIM. Grants under this program will help community partners organize to improve the health of Missourians.

Plan to attend one of MFH’s upcoming SIM informational meetings to learn more about this new funding program.  Details are below:

SOCIAL INNOVATION FOR MISSOURI – INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS

St. Louis, MO: Friday, August 6, 9 am, Missouri Foundation for Health, 1000 St. Louis Union Station, Suite 400  

Potosi, MO: Friday, August 6, 1 pm, Washington County Library,  235 E. High Street


There is no cost to attend, but RSVPs are requested.  To reserve a seat at either meeting, contact Temekka Cannon, 314.345.5577 or tcannon@mffh.org.  Please specify which meeting you are attending.  Guests at the St. Louis presentation will receive a parking voucher to exit the gated lot after the event.
